.dctmp format
Hey there!
How about adding some more info to the dctmp file names (like full size) and then associate the type to DC++. That would be a really good way to resume unfinished files after reinstallation of DC++ or Windows... Or sometimes when DC++ crashes and the download queue is lost...You just have to dbl-click on the unfinished file and it's added to the queue again!

I'm talking about people that don't use hash! Sometimes when you search for a file you get alot of matches without a TTH root. And sometimes you don't even have a TTH for the file you are downloading at all. I think the size it useful until everyone start using TTH.
The main thing I wanted to say was that you should associate .dctmp to DC and make it add the file to the queue when people double click on it. Sounds good?

90% of the people in the hubs I'm in are using 0.307 or newer, so for me there's no benefit to doing things the old way, without TTHes.Cyborg wrote:I think the size it useful until everyone start using TTH.
When I changed the format, I inteded to write something that would scan a directory structure for incomplete files and recreate a queue from the incompletes. Adding a file association is possible as well.Cyborg wrote:The main thing I wanted to say was that you should associate .dctmp to DC and make it add the file to the queue when people double click on it. But I still think it's a good idea to add the size to the filename...All the usefull info from the queue should be added. Not the sources etc.
When alot of files has been added to the queue and none of the sizes are known, you don't know how much space it all will use. I see no harm in adding the size. Only profits.
