Add MP3 quality checker in search list ?

Post by Bergen » 2004-08-31 12:58

When downloading mp3´s in dc++ I have always be annoyed over that I have to download a song to check what quality it has.

Woulden´t it be a great feature if dc++ could sence if the mp3 file that Im about to download is a 92 kbps encoding or a 192 kbps encoding.

Best would be If it could show this right next to filename in searchlist.

Not realistically possible within the NMDC protocol (just adding TTH was an ugly kluge as it is). It's possible under ADC, but I think features like this should be left in modland.

Quality != bitrate.

To guess quality, you have to use EncSpot or a similar too.

<irony>For those not in the know, EncSpot is the CDM of MP3s. ;)</irony>
