Why did you close the feature request thread: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_i ... aid=524874
I think it was a great idea. T1 and T3 are just for the states. Why not make it possible to add your own speed like this: "666kbps"
It would be just as easy to fake your speed as it is now. It would be possible to show your real speed though.
Add connection speeds

Well lets skip the user entered values. Some authentic values for the european users would be nice though. What's the idea behind this. The programmers are europeans. They must have thought of this. Are the "speeds" locked agains the Neo Modus "speeds" in some way so it's not possible to change if not Neo Modus do so?

These are hardcoded and never sent in anything but a numeric format to another client. They're not sent as strings, so each client has to have a table of speeds internally... If one client redefines them, the others will not know that, and will have the speed wrong.
It's just not possible.
Put it in your description or nick instead.

Actually they are sent as strings - here's how the $MyINFO looks:GargoyleMT wrote:These are hardcoded and never sent in anything but a numeric format to another client. They're not sent as strings, so each client has to have a table of speeds internally...
$MyINFO $ALL nickname description$ $speedB$e-mail$sharesize$
The speed is a string, followed by a byte used for setting the icon in NMDC (only used for fileserver & fireball icons). I made my bot to answer the $GetINFO request with a $MyINFO, which says Bot as the speed...
[offtopic]BTW: does anybody know what's the $ $ after the description about?
