Double-click on tabs to close

Post by stream2k » 2004-07-12 12:47

I use Firefox web browser which supports tabbed browsing. You can get a plug-in for the browser so that double-clicking on a tab closes it; i find this really useful and wondered if support for this feature within dc++ would get any backing from any other users :?: I have searched to see if anyone else has posted a similar idea and found nothing :)

Cheers

Some people want middle-clicking to close. If I were to implement either, I'd go for the middle-click.

Indeed. Middle clicking closes a tab in Opera and the Moz family. I don't recall double clicking meaning "close" in any app.

Well, actually, it's a single middle click in Mozilla that closes a tab... :)

I'm in full support of Middle-clicking to close tabs. Oh, and I use FireFox, I had no idea a middle mouse click would close a tab, that's useful.

Yeah, middle click does close tabs in Firefox... that is if you haven't got an intellimouse exp. with the software mapping mouse buttons to keystrokes :( Double-click to close for all the intelli users  and all those two-button mouse folk

Or... how about an option to set it either way? ooOOooo

I believe this has been covered multiple times before, however most times people want a different kind of click to close the windows. First it was Shift-Click (which I wrote a patch for and is linked below) then people wanted middle click and now double click? I'm pretty sure Arne added the below patch to dc++ when I submitted it to him last year sometime, so maybe you could just get used to shift-clicking (standard in mirc i think).
