Sharing certain folders for certain hubs

Post by Mako » 2004-07-12 12:18

There are many people including me, that go to many different hubs. And some of them (if not many of them) are quite fussy over what you share and how much, this makes it hard to be on many hubs simoltaneously. I was wondering if a feature where, you designate certain shared folders to be shared with certain hubs you log on to.

For example:

Let's say I am a member of an electronic music hub, where they require only music files, yet I want to be on a movie hub which requires only movies. At the same time I want to be on a hub that requires just drum and bass music files. Sharing all the required files would lead to me being kicked by one hub or the other. But with such a feature, you can stay on without having any problems at all.

I hope this will help out.

Mako.

Please search before making new requests, this is a FRF. The latest time was this thread: http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/forum ... hp?t=10794
http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/forum ... hp?t=10592
http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/forum ... php?t=7919
http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/forum ... php?t=9964
(that's going back three pages in the feature forum, not searching)

It also would not be easy to implement with the NMDC protocol.

i think that that is a good idea too but some people might not like that idea. you can use it to abuse things like computers and hubs by only sharing the minuim share possible on each hub instead of what you need to share. it might be worth it because then you could share only the minium that each hub wants and if a hub demands more from you then it can raise its own minium share.

Which is one of the arguments against it, which will be found in one of the many existing threads.

Let's not be redundant.
