Ctrl-tab order

Post by Lundis » 2004-07-01 02:15

I've used dc++ for over two years and I don't like the new ctrl-tab order for windows within the program.
This feature was introduced in 0.306 and I will not change my 0.305 until this changes, I really hate it. It's impossible to use the keyboard in any useful way.
I want this to be changed back or be optional.

btw, I am the one that wrote the first draft on how to use the search strings in the dc++ readme.

I use more than two windows.
And the order is changing all the time.

Interesting, do you take exception to Windows' Alt-Tab order, since DC++ now behaves in the same way?

You can feel free to enter this into bugzilla, and if enough users agree with you by voting for it, the behavior may switch back.

The windows alt-tab works well enough but sub-windows never work like that.
And don't compare such tabs with windows alt-tab, it has icons and more room for text.
The win-tab function always goes from left to right like I make it in dc++.

But what I don't like is that the order is something first, you tab somewhere and then the order is different, I never know where it's gonna go.

I don't consider this a bug at all, just a feature I don't like and I want it to be optional.

Okey, I have another stupid suggestion you can ignore and dislike. :D

With 0.403 you can move the tabs around which is nice.
I suggest to have the option to fix the tab order so it goes to the right (and back to the left again), even if new windows pop up.
This way you will always know where the focus will go, cause with 0.305 and earlier when a new window popped up the order became different. And with later versions I think it's very hard to know even if no new windows opened up.

And it's also possible to work in two windows that are far from each other, just move them next to each other and tab between them.

Actually, I'm inclined to agree on this one....
