Is there a way to implement a program like peerguardian?

Post by divan » 2004-06-17 16:18

i tryed azureus bt program and found a funktion that implements peerguardians database to the application.

so i was woundering if theres a way to do the same with dc++ instead of running the perrguardian application.

example peerguardian is a program that blocks ip numbers and ip ranges to sertain well known firms that searches for deamon files on dc hubs.

All the ip-series i have been able to check the validity of are
totaly bogus. Implementing it into DC++ sounds rather useless
since firewalls already can accomplish what you want.

Searching for peerguardian in this forum, and or the feature-tracker on the sf.net homepage
for dc++ will probably answer your questions.

Everyone is supposed to download from the hubs, - I don´t know why, but I never do anymore.

You can use the protowall application with the peerguardian lists and "protect" all of your p2p applications at once. There's 100% no need for it in DC++. (It's not accurate anyhow.)

how about implementing peerguardian into the hub software?

you'll stop the wankers right from the start, and protecting hundreds of hub users

ask your friendly local hub owner
