Autokicker

Post by pkarlstr » 2003-02-22 08:16

Another "simple" function that would be nice for op's.

A function that allows you to put the client in "sharecheck mode" and then download filelists from users and if the sharesize differ (more than +/-2%?) from the reported size in the hub the user would be kicked.
Also, it should probebly only do this when the user has sent his MyInfo string.

What do you all think?

The same basic idea, but i think it would be better to compare the downloaded value to the reported value in the hub.

then i think that nmdc-users will be really mad  but who cares about them. nmdc have lots of problems to show correct share when it's many files. could diff around 2GB or more from the one it says in 'shared' field and the share it says while downloading his/hers filelist

who cares about nmdc =)

well... Maybe you could have some sort of check so you can set it so it's allowed to diff up a % of the share.

I dont think that this really should be an issue, if it's a bad client them make them change client...
Maybe have some message sent to the user before they get kicked like:

Your client reported x Gb in the userlist, but your fileshare was only x Gb.
This could be due to a bad client.
An alternative client is: http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net

or something like that. But still i have some vip's in my hub and just having a minimumshare for the hub would probebly cause trouble. But i think this would be a better way to compare it...
