download minimum speed

Post by TheKindred » 2004-05-31 17:09

someone needs to make it so that you can set a minimum dl speed so that downloads below a desired speed automatically get removed from queue

It's in the feature tracker: [ 669593 ] Switch download source when below specified speed
There are several threads about this already, including one where xhost+ wrote a patch to impliment it. link

And, as it stands, the patch was submitted, rejected for being ugly, and xhost+ decided not to clean it up and resubmit.

Come on... My patch was not *that* ugly
Anyway, I prefer ugly things that work fine to pretty stuff you can do nothing with!

And if the original poster want to try that (ugly) patch, it's available at http://jdcpp.free.fr. Enjoy (or puke, whatever).

Whether it was ugly or not, I'm sure arne had suggestions about what needed to be changed for it to be incorporated into DC++ and for all users to benefit from your code. And, from your initial posts to the min-speed thread, it sounded like you were interested in having your code in DC++.

It's no skin off of my teeth - there are lots of features that mods have that DC++ doesn't.

Is plugging CZDC that important? It's been established that other mods have this feature...

Didn't PPK go closed-group, and essentially closed-source? All because of similar license violations by RM?
