chatbox clear checkbox

Post by Mantis » 2006-07-11 23:55

Just like there is a checkbox for the userlist in the right bottom corner to make it dissapear/hide I think it would be nice if there were one for the chatbox to make it dissapear if u check the box and it dissapears with only the usernames showing...

for those people who don't want to chat and c the useless conversations but only download and c the users on and filelists... just my idea :) would be great if it can be implemented

Do you mean the user list or do you mean just the the usernames from the chat. The former seems interesting. The latter seems useless. Please clarify.

OK. It's clearer now. So what would you expect to happen if both items where checked?

there is already something you can do: use the splitter bar that is between the chat and the user list, and take it to the left... this way, the chat won't disappear but at least you won't notice it

I really despise this idea, good way to kill the DC community further. The problem with chat is hub owners spam it with too much useless information in various forms, plus in bigger hubs it's too impersonal and moronic. There are some hub owners who are aware of this and take appropriate action, the solution is simple: support their hubs. If you just want to leech with your generic RIAA infested files, I really wish you'd bugger off to another p2p and quit bringing DC down.

Also it's equally stupid in the sense that how will the MOTD and rules be shown? Shame on you all, you might as well just name DC Kazaa instead.

and what about a button to clear the chat content ? PeerWebDC has this features and it is handy when the chat is a mess.

I'd have to agree with ullner. You want a button instead of typing six letters?, you lazy bastards :)

1 action vs 6 actions. I know which is more efficient. ;)

You know are are not all super programers like you who can type faster than they write. Also why putting a "close" button as you can do alt+f4.
And do you think about ppl who don't have any keyboard, or only one hand left :P
