Proposal, mainly regarding search interval

Post by TBO » 2006-04-12 19:12

As you know, some hubs have search interval. They may range from seconds to several minutes. Information about the search interval is usually given by a bot in the hub's main chat window when you're searching too fast, but I think it should be more convenient to locate that information.

You know, when you're refused to connect to a hub, the hub turns red. When you're connected to a hub, it turns green. My proposal is that the hub turns yellow when you're unable to search because the function currently is disabled, or because of a search interval.

The messages about the search interval are sent as normal chat messages. Therefore, acting on them would require parsing chat messages, which can result in false positives and false negatives, as the formatting for the message can be arbitrarily chosen by the hub.
