Auto Kill Downloads

Post by SubversiveAgent » 2006-03-27 06:23

In a nutshell : Small box in options, "Close download if speed is below #Kb/s"

Why we need it : Because I get alot of low speeds downloads from other users. Because I'm taking another user's slot for a 600b/s download speed when perhaps someone in the same country as he is can get it at 10 or 20 or 50Kb/s.

And, because once I'm download file X at 600B/s, all other sources with higher download speeds are lost to me. Once I'm "trapped" downloading that low speed file there's nothing I can do. Except end it manually. And I'm not there to do it.

Does this make sense?

Okay, so there's a screenshot right there (lower mid page). Sorry to be a n00b on this thread, but it's bugging the hell outta me. What/where should I set the minimum acceptable speed, so that the download is severed if it falls below say... 1Kb?

Because all I'm seeing there are "priorities" for downloads, not an actual "you're too slow, cancel download now" option.

The screenshots on that page are only of versions up to 0.674. The feature you are talking about was added in newer versions. Have a look at the relevant settings window in the software, rather than that page.

oh... mine's .674, that would explain why I never saw the new features. Thanks for the heads up :)
