Rehashing Renamed Folders, Not Good

Post by Omexis » 2006-03-03 17:08

Could it be possible to add a feature so that when you view your own filelist, to be able to rename folders within your share. If you rename folder via Windows Explorer as such, DC++ would recognise this as a different folder and rehash the entire contents. This is ok if you have 1 Gig or less, but i have folders containing 60 Gig+. Obviously if you could rename folders within DC++, the folder name would be changed respectively on the windows system. This would be great as an alternative without rehashing files again. The only issue i can think of is that windows doesn't allow renaming folder names when files are in use, such as a user downloading a file within the folder to be renamed, but i don't know if there are any workarounds for that.

A popup box saying that this is in use by another process. The same type of thingy windows will throw at you. :)

But good idea, btw. :)

You could always do it within DC++ before you connect to any hub.

I'll write a Perl script to do it in hashindex.xml.
