Default minimum Slot settings
From a hub owners pont of view, I would like to see the standard min slots
changed to 2 if at all possible. Most hubs like 2 slots - and it is also much more beneficial for everyone downloading if users have a few more open slots, and sumtimes explaining to N00Bs how to open more slots is very difficult and time consuming.
I think it is a good idea and would like to see the minimum slots set to 2.

A better approach to the situation would be to improve the current interface. From your experience, what does users find difficult when it involvs changing slots?PuLsAr wrote:explaining to N00Bs how to open more slots is very difficult and time consuming.

Just one reason why that idea sucks:
Most is not EVERY hub.Freedom of having custom settings is one of DC++ features. DC++ is used in many ways - like DC LAN parties or private hubs - not only public hubs where benefits of heavy downloads are on first placeMost hubs like 2 slots - and it is also much more beneficial for everyone

This kind of rules should be enforced by the hub _not_ by the client so that we don't impair the freedom of the user (Okay, perhaps not that serious ) as there might be situations when it would be good to be able to choose to have that number of slots.
Bun now was the request from the original poster not to limit what you can choose, only to change the default value of it.

Yes he does, yes he does, but still there is not even single situation where this maybe a good idea. If so, then why there's even a chance to do that stupid desicion and set 999 slots?
If you really wanna keep freedom etc. within DC++, maybe the 99 slots max even? Its still damn much but it sounds even a bit more wise than 999.
