When creating the ban feature, can someone please allow block banning that is FAST! i have about 52 million ip addresses i needed banned from various governmnet agencies around the world and the current ban methods are too slow for the number of ip addresses i have.
Im sure i can trim a little off the list but its better to be safe than sorry.

well, i was only interested in which "ips" you used and from which list. I had into the hubsoft i wrote actually got attempts from those ipseries to connect. I'm not sure how valid those entries are, atleast the one i recogniced. for example, bannig webhotels only because some agency has their page there. But i guess one has to search their forum to see how good they are.
Everyone is supposed to download from the hubs, - I don´t know why, but I never do anymore.
the first time i tried it took about 4 days. Now i have got it down to about 10 min using wild cards for blocks. The list i used i compiled from a few websites including http://www.bluetack.co.uk/ http://www.generationmp3.com/antiP2P.php3 http://xs.tech.nu/
they need to be cleened up, i still working on that part, also i dont know if this is all the ips, or if some of the ips are not user ips. Anyway let me know.

This is exactly the sort of things that DNS BLs are meant for.yakko wrote:actually I forgot. there's a DNS blacklist plugin that probably does exactly what you're trying to do. It checks wether an IP is blacklisted with servers you specify then allows access if it is not.
Whether anyone has a peer-guardian-esque list that's reliable about who is put into it is another question. Any unix head can find a program that will allow them to run a DNS BL here: rbldns.
