Need Help
I am so Lost in here please anybody help me out
[1] add files to your share. you need to share something, or you will get kicked/disconnected from hubs.
File -> Settings -> Sharing
[2] select a nice nickname, and configure your internet settings
File -> Settings -> General
if you are connected directly to the internet, choose active mode. if you use a firewall (windows XP has one built in, which is ON by default), you'll need to open up a port, 1412 for instance, remember to open both TCP and UDP. then you'll also need to enter that number in the Port box.
if you have an internal ip, 10.x.x.x or 192.168.x.x, you must choose passive mode, or configure your router (read: http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/forum ... .php?t=227). you can see your IP address by entering "ipconfig /all" in a cmd.exe, or for old windows versions, run winipcfg.exe
[3] choose a download directory
File -> Settings -> Downloads
[4] now you can start entering hubs.
File -> Public Hubs
browse the list, and see if you see a hub that sounds nice. watch the description. if it says "min 15GB" or something, make sure you have at least 15GB of (good) data in your share. (good data is: movies, music, installers; data that will get you kicked/banned is: installed games/applications, windows directory, program files, your documents, and other things that no one wants)
[5] when you've entered a hub. you can press the search button, and enter what you are looking for. furthermore you can chat with the folks in the hub. if you need further assistance you can get help from the people in there.
