One of the hats that I wear in my day job is postmaster for a really small company. As part of our spam filtering, I use a DNS black hole (dnsbl), which is the generic class of "services" that MAP's rbl (realtime black hole) falls into. Specifically, I use an Open Relay black hole called OPM (info). It is run by an IRC network to combat open proxy abuse by IRC users. think that, since there's already a SOCKS5 mode in DC++, there is the potential for malicious users to use open SOCKS5 proxies to get around hub bans and generally wreak havoc. I think that one of dch++'s features should be to implement configurable DNSBL lists, perhaps even with OPM or UPL shipping as a default.
Yes, I know dch++ is in beta, but this would be a really nice feature, (even moreso if it was never ever needed!). I think like DC++ is the leader for clients, dch++ can be the leader for hub software too. Or at least a darn good implementation with nice features.
If you wanted to be totally crazy, you could do client bans through a local DNSBL, but that's... fanciful.
dch++ and a preemptive anti-abuse feature

another DNSBL
Slight update, I mentioned this in the hub, but I'll follow-up here too.
Easynet.nl (formerly Wirehub.nl) runs another proxy DNSBL. Here' the information page: http://abuse.easynet.nl/proxies.html
