!Static Lock?

Post by mcqfesijiba » 2003-09-15 21:47

I am an op and am using the DC++ Client Detection Mod 0.181. Does Static Lock automatically mean a cheating client?

Thanks in advance for any help

Only DC++ uses a static lock really.

Therefor, if it doesn't have a DC++ tag, it's probably a faker.

Everyone is supposed to download from the hubs, - I don´t know why, but I never do anymore.

hehe, ok... out of NMDC, DC++ and DC GUI, only DC++ uses a fully static lock ;)

Yes, and anyone who doesn't use one of three approved clients (note that there's no half-decent Mac client in there, as the NMDC one, well, isn't) is a faker.

Edit: er, unless you're talking about the non-DCTC based 'dcgui' client... Damn similar names...

Potentially, yes. I preffer not to take the chance in my hub, personally. I meant the cross-platform dcgui, which ever that is.. ;)

NMDC, DC++, and DC GUI users are also potentially fakers.

There is only one 100% guaranteed way to keep all fakers out of your hub.....

a way to minimize chance to have fakers in your hub is to make it private and be very very selective about who can get in. :wink:
or disable sharing all together.(might be a future feature, no one know :lol: )

Why not just disconnect the computer running the hub from the net?
