Hey, all.
I'm new to the idea of direct sharing. I have been using limewire and bit torrent for a while now and am wanting to start using dc++ as i have been told you can join a hub that shares a similar taste to you so your searches have more chance of hitting..
I have a couple of Qs, if people dont mind..
1. I am using a mac, can i still use DC++ and can i connect to all the hubs as usual?
2. What are the best sources of info regarding DC++?
and 3. Where can i find lists of the different hubs to browse?
Thanks very much if you can help.
DC++ For A Mac

There is no MAC version of DC++. All of your questions can be answered by trying a DC client for the Mac, though. Here are two:

No, it isn't. You're probably thinking of MacDC++.yakko wrote:If I recall right, they're based off the DC++ code.
ah, then their website confused me.
It's still a great client.
The UI is pretty close to DC++, so I thought some of the underlying code was DC++ as well.ShakesPeer is a p2p, or peer to peer file sharing program. It is a client for the DirectConnect protocol. The main goal of ShakesPeer is to create a fully featured client, compatible with DC++, that runs on Mac OS X with a native Aqua GUI. The program is released as OpenSource under the GPL License.
It's still a great client.
