User IS online - download not resuming (user offline)

Post by zqorpio » 2004-10-03 03:54

Hello. folks!

I use DC++ 401 for a while, now I got trouble.

I went offline for a time (several days, reason: HDD full) and when I came back, I see that I have in download queue files (from the same user) that are downloading (the new added - user online) and files that are NOT downloading (user offline). Both new added files and previously added files are from the very same user, same nick, same IP, I can see those files in user's file list( at least some of them), but even if newer added files are downloading, the others show as the user is offline and they do not download!

Does anyone what is going on here?

best regards

I would guess that user has taken the files in question out of their share.

Not The Case

Post by DeathStalker77 » 2004-10-03 18:57

No, that's not the case. Same user, same file, same location.

I've experienced this as well - all the way up through (and including) v4033.

File is still shared by the user (no nick change either), and it is still in the same location, but DC doesn't see the user as online, EVEN when the file is re-selected from Search. The user has to be Remeved Fromn Queue, or Removed as Source, in order to be able to re-add them.

Quite annoying, but I have not yet seen any distinct pattern (as far as versions go).

I am not sure if this may be related to this problem.
But I have noticed that if you share a folder with not so common characters there may be difficulities with downloading it correctly.
I have a folder called • Video • and if I open the sharelist the names of the folders are all empty. Though I am able to make my way forward and the files inside the folders do exist. If I add them to the queue I am sometimes lucky and the transfer start, and sometimes I have to re-add the source and it then finds it and starts the transfer, or it's just impossible, it won't start. The different results is different per client I use, I haven't looked which core version that gives which result, but you may check if the folder you're downloading from or to have strange characters in the name.
The highest version I tested was fulDC 6.52 (0.4033)

Folder Names

Stmated:

Nice to see you here (I'm pretty sure we know each other from at least one hub)

I know that on the files I've experienced this with, there have been no unusual characters in the folders or filenames - in fact, some have been quite simple.

Trem has newer versions of fulDC out, if it's a DC++ bug, he's usually good in pointing that out to us.
