How to save your DC settings when formatting?

Post by awmvannierop » 2004-09-22 08:35

I need to format my computer soon but don't want to loose the settings for Direct Connect. I use Direct Connect 2.0 (not DC++) and want to know how to save the download settings for it. I have big files in qeue that are 91% completed and don't want to loose them.

Thanks in advance!

Wish I could help you, but you don't have DC++.

There are some settings files where you have installed nmdc, who knows what that is.
And you must backup the actual incomplete files, so you can't format the drive they're on.

And when nmdc is installed again, put the settings files back and the incomplete files in the exact same place (for example c:\program files\downloads or whatever).
But you should clear out the download queue first.

He means: don't start any new downloads, and let your old downloads finish.

This is the DC++ forum, Direct Connect 2.0 is made by a different person, and as far as I know, he doesn't have any support forums.

If you'd like to switch teams, we can certainly help. ;)

You might want to check out "C:\Documents and Settings\your_user_name_goes_here\Application Data\Neo-Modus.com\DCSettings" among other places. ;))
Everyone is supposed to download from the hubs, - I don´t know why, but I never do anymore.
