Sending files to other users

Hi

It would be very nice if we could SEND files to other users, (like in ICQ or Messenger)

Also: emoticons would be a nice feature.

Since you wrote "No advertising"

I won't give the name of the program I saw these features!!!

To be able to send is not part of the protocol. There are several threads on the issue if
you search the forum. It has todo with broken-authentication et.c. And other things. Emotion.icons has also been proposed before. Feel free to search the forum.

It was DC:Pro. If it's a viable client for you, please use it.

Emoticons will not make it into DC++, for they require a rich edit chat box, and DC++ won't get one of those, for reasons you cannot change.

Sending files is largely the reason that DC++ will let you grant slots to someone, or so I imagine.
