what is wrong with revese connect?

Post by premier69 » 2004-08-18 04:05

i think reverse connect is by far the best as i dont have to worry about a download starting , me going to bed thinking it will be finished by the morning becouse its downloading so fast.

only to wake up the following morning and finding out that oh shit! that fast user i was downloading from, i got disconnected.

istead im downloading from this really slow user, and becouse im downloading from this user dc++ wont go trying to download from a faster source.

This is why revconnect appeals to me, it works and works well!

so why do i get banned from every single hub?

i get banned from most hubs at www.hublist.org

this just in:

oh goodie look:

<[StorM]> You've been banned by [StorM]JaZeY because: Hacked client / Faker / Netlimiter
*** Disconnected

this is the hub: Raggasvin.no-ip.com:23

that JUST happened to me, i should be used to that by now.

im getting tired of changing ip so often.

This is the DC++ forum, not the Reverse Connect one. Most hubs ban you because they don't like corrupted files / multi-source downloading / don't know the client or simply have a badly configured CDM client. They may or not be stupid reasons, but that's their choices. If the option to drop slow sources is the only reason you use it, you should probably check out other mods that have the same feature, but less "bad" ones.

you can't imagine how many hundreds of gigs i've downloaded with revcon, and since i always download with TTH i have no problems.

I don't have any problem wih revcon, its just as good as dc++ infact better, and thanks for pointing out this is a dc++ forum, i would never have understood that.

So, you mean Rev connect has fixed it's multi-source downloading that caused corrupted files? That's great, but since nobody knows about it, doesn't really help you.

You're welcome. Although i think the issue is that other people have problems with the client, and they don't really care if you have or not.

yeah, they do seem to have fixed it completely in .403b, it's multi-sourcing with tth, and automatically re downloads segmets that have got corrupted, it seems to be flawless. It's interesting to see a download get to 100% then jump back down to 94% for example a couple of times as it cleans up the problems.
Windoze Sux still....

put something in you description when you use revconnect.. then they can't see no different between DC++ and revconnect

Except, of course, for the crap on the end of your Pk.
I believe you can turn that off as well.

Those may be the only two things that are detectable, but I don't know - I haven't looked.

Well, there's always having two people uploading the same file to you at the same time, but that takes a bit more coordination to pick up.

Oh, yes, and having your downloads from that user randomly disconnected, which is the other part of their credit system, if I recall correctly. If you're downloading from them, and someone with more credit (i.e. someone with RC) comes and asks for a file, you get disconnected and they get the upload.

Yeah, I respect Liny, and now that Big fixed up RC, I respect it, but has been a long time coming.

I tell you why you got banned.
In RC the descpition is automatically changed to <<<WWW.REVCONNECT.COM>>> when not changed. So just write something there... for example... abla bla, aber, lol, haha?, oh my god!!, ok this is lame etc................

RC's tag is exactly the same as DC++'s so they won't see a difference between RC and DC++.
This sure is a silly signature - DreamStream

Why are you repeating yourself?

Since you said that, it's only PseudonympH and myself that've been talking, and neither of us are Reverse Connect users.
