This came up while searching, and I'd just like to add, could you state in the readme or right on the conf panel that domains are valid as well? That totally threw me for some time, same issue as the thread starter.

The ideal configuration would probably be:

Code: Select all

Active IP or hostname Port
     Connection: [ ] [ ] (blank for auto)
     Searching: [ ] [ ] (blank for above)
Also, I put in my hostname, foxyshadis.com, and several subdomains, and it doesn't detect the IP still. Connections occured as soon as I plugged the IP itself in. Using nslookup from the laptop and from a remote site, both report 68.126.90.169, but I have no DC connectivity with it. Version is BCDC .401a, port is 9264. [Just installed .403b. Same issue.]

Did you put in the domain name and port in both sections (connection & searching) ? There is/was a bug in BCDC that required you to, in order to be in true active mode.

Not before, but I checked it out just now. No go, holmes. Same domain in both fields, same port in both fields, no connections or searches possible, goes right back to working when using IP. Same .403b. The bug seems to still be there.

I use two domains in my IP boxes and the port in the port box. Does the dynamic dns name resolve properly on your windows box? What does IP does /connection show when using the hostname?

Sorry about the extended absence.

I put the domain in and used /connection, and groaned: My fault, I long since forgot that I aliased the domain to localhost on there for internal use. Eh. Once I chose another alias it worked fine. Thanks for the help and pointers though.
