PSAPI.DLL & NTDLL.DLL problem.

Post by dizzy » 2004-06-03 05:12

Hi,

I can't seem to use DC++ 0.401a or b, I first ran it and it said PSAPI.DLL was missing, so I got myself a copy, then tried again, now I get this error message now:

Image
"Error Starting Program
The PSPAI.DLL file is
linked to missing export NTDLL.DLL:NtAllocateVirtual Memory."

I can't seem to update the NTDLL.DLL file as it always says it's being used by windows and the one that's alrady there is the same size as the new one. It says something about virtual memory but seems to happen when I run it at any point.

Thanks for your time.

The same thing happened to me about four days ago and i've been trying to fix it ever since. Apparently i have something called Spyware that got into my computer and messed around with the DLL files but i still can't find how to fix it. Lets hope someone else has some ideas. otherwise i'm gonna have to take my laptop to a workshop

If you're getting PSAPI.DLL problems, you're using BCDC++, not DC++.

This is the DC++ forum.

Some versions of BCDC simply won't work under 9x. Get yourself a better operating system.

Nothing to do with spyware. My machine is clean (and has been) but I get the same problem.

Something has changed between BCDC++ 3.07 and 4.01a. I have to use the previous version which works fine.

Yes, as I was the one who made the change:

Newer versions probably work on Win9x, but since none of us BCDC++ devs have a 9x box, compatibility will never be tested.

I have the same problem, it says:
"PSAPI.DLL is connected to missing export NTDLL.DLL: NtAllocateVirtualMemory".
But I am using the WIN Millenium Edition. I tried to download both dlls but it wont help...

I would say that Windows ME falls under 9x versions... essentially, upgrade to w2k or wXP.

What product family do you think ME belongs to? Since you didn't know, it is the same code base that Windows 95, 98, and 98SE came from. The PSAPI calls I use (which has been changed to a load-when needed in later BCDC versions) are available only on NT based OSes - which means Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows 2003.

Use an older version or get a newer build of BCDC - though at some point, everyone should be running a more modern OS than ME. FYI, I host a binary on the site in my profile.
