IMO, this is not needed for 2 reasons: 1. The tab turns red when the hub is not connected. (No need to open all windows as stated.) 2. I want to leave the hub window open so any disconnected hubs try to reconnect. Hubs can disconnect somewhat frequently due to ISP problems, or if the hub gets restar...

I would like to advise everyone out there to stay AWAY from Hitachi. These guys are giving me such a hassle. It was a pain in the @$$ to ship it to them (so particular)...but it has been 4 weeks and they still haven't shipped it back to me. I had recently bought a new RAM chip and Mobo, and I haven'...

NO-IP
Recently, I got a NO-IP account for my stubborn dynamic IP connection. It sparked an idea  . Why not have the hub perform like the no-ip.org servers do? In my simple yet optimistic mind, I see the hubs having a list like: jbyrd.dc++.com -> 69.201.51.89 *handle.dc++.com-> xx.xxx.xx.xx This coul...

I agree Xan. To be honest, when I first started using DC, almost no one that I knew had heard of it. It was kinda cool, like an "exclusive" p2p network. As far as my involvement in the forum: Because of the nature of my job (Mechanical Engineering internship), I have been able to spend some time dur...

If you're dlding a movie and the user goes offline, you can do a search for alternate, but when you start dlding the same file from another user, it starts back from scratch, it should resume where it stopped. Right click an alternate file and choose "download to..." and select the file you want to...

Disable Search Window Before Connected
I have now seen 4 threads in the Help/Support section go on for 12 or more posts before it was realized that the reason the person isn't receiving any search results is because they aren't connected to a hub! Would it be possible to "grey out" the search button until the user is actually connected t...

Well, if the user changes the number of slots they are using, then you are likely to get different speeds from the uploader. It's simple math, really. If it is determined that the uploader's maximum bandwidth is 128kbits/s, if that user has 10 slots and they are full, then you are going to get 12.8 ...

First of all, DSL - CABLE - T1 are rediculous for two reasons. 1. It is obviously easily fakable. 2. It says absolutely nothing about upload bandwidth, because not all Cable or DSL or T1 connections have the same maximum upload bandwidth . Now that that has been said, the MAXIMUM (like Twink said) w...

Blaster Virus Fallout
Like many others out there, the blaster virus has affected me. I screwed up and disconnected my router (that's a long story) and about 5 minutes later...BAM virus hit and told me that my computer was going to shut down. I actually disabled it before my computer shut down...and ran the update and pat...

There's no real good way of sharing things that you really like to other people unless they already know about it and are looking for it. Probably because: Most people go onto DC++ looking for something specific and either they find it or they don't. Personally, filelists are ways for me to downloa...

Ok, I just reread your post...did you mean 9500pro or just a regular 9500?
I have never actually seen the L formation of memory chips, but just to make sure the 9500 black PCB versionand 9500Pro red PCB versionaren't configured like that, right? (I only see ram along one side of the GPU).

Sounds good. Does the existing hub software have any type of "tag" as the dc++ client does? If so, then the dc++ client could look at the hub tag. Or, the hublist could list these requirements in a separate column...much like some of them show the number of users and total Terabytes of files shared ...
