Note that the toggle does nothing on either. did you restart dc++? D'Oh! I completely forgot that you needed to do that with the Appearance page. My bad. I guess that comment can be disregarded for the moment. a Courier type font, as shown in the "incorrect" picture above. huh? http://hem.br...

I assume you're talking about a static IP address within your LAN, right? If so, first of all, make a note of the output of "ipconfig /all". You will need it later. Look at the settings for your network connection in control panel. Look at "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)". Change the automatic IP addres...

Re: The view as text feature
you can only use "Use OEM monospaced font" which doesn't seem to do the job correctly.. Define "correctly". Shouldn't all monospace font by their very nature (monospaced!) show ASCII art in exactly the same way, albeit with a different font style? Here's a screendump so you can see what I'm talking...

Re: The view as text feature
using the OEM monospaced font for viewing text files. But the majority of the text files (so called .nfo files) are using a SYSTEM font. I don't understand the distinction you are making here. When you talk about SYSTEM, are you talking about the Windows font called "System"? If so, that is a monos...

This seems like flawed logic to me. Did you verify the files when you wrote them?J187 wrote:Since all files were part of one project and some work fine, I know it isn't a disc error.
It sounds very much like a disc error to me.

It's not a bug, and if it were, it's not specific to DC++. That line is text and it is sorted alpabetically. Hence "30" comes before "9". Your workaround to "help" is a hack, at best. What happens if a number more than 99 is needed? Do you just keep on adding zeroes? As far as I know there is no sim...

With that kind of thinking do we actually need a 32 bit version or a 16 bit version of dc plus plus? I wasn't asking the question to be philosophical. I was genuinely wondering whether you needed a 64-bit version. Is there any reason you were being so sensitive/defensive? In answer to your counter ...

In this case, DC++ will use the older method of matching by file name and size. Any hashes encountered will be ignored (as far as I can remember).Gasp wrote:on most of the hubs I'm on many files does not have hashes at all

The $Id$ keyword is from CVS. If you insert just that keyword, CVS will automatically expand the tag to show the most current information. There are many other keywords, as shown here.

Since I've read that it goes by byte sizes As has already been mentioned, it doesn't. It goes by hash, ie. the actual file content . You basic assumption is incorrect, so you may want to revise your suggestions appropriately. I will answer your points though. 1. let us see what it sees as the same ...

You should have received a piece of software that keeps that address synchronised with the IP address of your machine. This will mean that people will be able to connect to your hub using the DNS name no matter how many times the IP address of your computer changes. So to recap, your hub is now work...
