Well Yassl doesn't compile on 2005, which is why I said it's currently not possible, at least it wasn't last week :) The other stuff and some more tweaks I've already done, but alas the yassl library doesn't compile...

DC++ will never be able to compile in the express edition, and does currently not compile even under the real MSVS 2005, the recommended compiler is MSVS 2003, which you can pick up pretty cheap now...

I think it's a Wine bug, since it's meant to work on windows, it's part of the windows gui, and it works in all windows versions from win2000 to vista.

well it'll have to send pretty unique stuff as well, as Garg said, so seriously this will not make it impossible for anyone to find out what you are sharing and the like, it'll only make it a little harder, and I don't really see any real gain, except more traffic...

yup basta and garg are right (dare I say as always) encryption client side will not make any more difference than having a private hub, since as soon as the "bad guy" (here meaning whoever you don't want spying on you) is connected he can do exactly the same things as you can.

well I actually just always overwrite filelists with the most recent filelist downloaded from a person with that nick in the same hub, potentionally that could result in thinking two users sharing the same nick is the same (they might not be). In my oppinion the biggest issue with searching filelist...

There's lots of different stuff in the project files that can make a difference in size, mostly the optimization for size, fast and so on... And I guess you made new project files, so that is probably why...

so in theory you should be able to load up DC++ and have it just work, but they're probably not at that point yet, so that's why you might need actual windows DLL files. Hopefully you won't need them forever though. Well theory is good, but last time I checked, that so didn't work. :) but seriously...

wine doesn't emulate anything. It's a recreation of the win32 API under Linux. The "win98 emulation" I think is more in how Wine looks and acts. And you can use 2k/XP dlls if you need to, so instead of using a win98 dll, try a more recent version. Yup that is correct, but to do the emulation right,...
