Ok, I updated the patch on the site to build filelists correct, but I'll need help working out how to do it with searches.
Also if a helpful mod could remove the patch code (not the link) that I put in my post it would be great (i can't edit it)

Agreed. Makes sense. Well I got bored between classes so instead of working I made a patch to allow turn off/on of shares. I've got a diff below, it would be nice if someone tested it (hint hint TheParanoidOne) its based on the latest public cvs. Probably needs a few changes so I didn't want to sub...

There are a number of steps Add the button to the toolbar bitmaps. (unless you are reusing an old icon) Edit createToolbar() in mainform.cpp to actually add the button (fairly simple just look at the code) Add a command_id_handler to mainform.h with the new buttons id and the name of the function it...

Hasn't this feature been put into other clients? Like bcdc and pdc++??? not bcdc that I know of, iDC and PDC have it thou, but not everyone wants to use mods, infact it is better alot of the time to use the vanilla dc++. This feature has been requested a number of times and mostly the reply is alon...

it might make sense to change the text in the file type drop downs to something like Audio (wav; mp3; wmv) Compressed (zip; rar) etc just so people actually know what they're searching for, I know it wont be quite correct as its the extensions at the other end that matter but it would at least give ...

I agree with him. I have a version of DC++ I keep updated for me and quite a few of my friends because we all search for pdf's etc when looking for manuals etc. HTML documents are lousy, generally worthless documents that are not correctly coded for cross browser use 99% of the time. PDF works and ...

Actually, how about an option simply to find a file with the exact same byte size and/or hash code as the one you want, therefore removing the problem of file name altogether? Im not exactly sure how hash codes work. I'm fairly sure that this is a planned feature, it is one of the major advantages ...

It's bigger due to you compiling a debug version instead of a release version, there should be a drop down box somewhere that lets you change between the two if not its likely to be in the build or debug menu. Debugging builds have several advantages such as assert statements which let you put ASSER...

I'm not really in any mood to get in some pointless argument about "posting just to post" yes I tried the client and yes I did notice it being a bit rough, have you tried using dc++ 0.001 (or whatever the first public release of dc++ was) its basically a wizard generated gui that can connect to a hu...

actually once you get into just editing stringdefs.h (yeh I think i said the wrong file in my last post) and auto generating stringdefs.cpp and example.xml it makes it easier, editing the two files separately (.h and .cpp) is actually annoying and can introduce all sorts of lovely human errors. I fi...

it probably means that the mod doesn't support translations correctly, alot of modders never learn how to use makedefs meaning that the language files dont work. What mod is this for anyway? To create a correct mod that supports language.xml files you edit the strings.h file and have it in the forma...

find the example.xml file (if the mod doesn't distribute one then use the dc++ one) open it in notepad. I quite like this idea.lusson wrote: * Each items' Search string in Download queue defaulting to the Search string that was used to find the file in the first place.
