Re: Upload Limiter Help for DC++0.668
BCDC++ has protection against users setting their limit too low - it will cap their download speeds too. I think this is fair, and the same cannot be said about 3rd party programs or some other DC++ limiting mods. Fair deal, unfortunately they seem to kick me for just using BCDC++ (SVN update of DC...

Definitely agree. There seems to be a need for change in policy/understanding/ethics on this.BSOD2600 wrote:When OPs are stupid enough to kick/ban users for actually showing what they're limiting, they're just making the users go to further extreams to hide what they will always be doing. Quite shortsighted.

Yes, I suppose its a bit of a fine line between being curious and asking - and really dive into the code yourself and do some serious tinkering with it. The general rule is - if it doesn't work - it's your own fault. I've come to understand that it works a bit like this - If you invest a bit of time...

Now I seem to have to correct myself once again.....I did some deeper tracing/testing here and it actually looks like TortoiseCVS is the reason from the beginning. I downloaded a fresh CVS, added some /* comments */ to the code (with notepad) and did a diff against sf CVS and guess what........I got...

I'm sorry. Of course I meant StringDefs.h/cpp , my mistake. And I do use makedefs.py to create StringDefs.cpp and Example.xml. Anyway, I've found the error. I've been using an editor called EditPlus for a long time. My relationship with this editor will end here and now. This editor was the cause of...

Should I give you a fish or teach you fishing? :) You've probably missed a include, either stlport or wtl. Mine looks like this: (VC++ Directories -> Include files) F:\DCPlusPlus\includes\wtl\wtl75_4291\include F:\DCPlusPlus\includes\stl\DCPlusPlus-STLPort-4.6.2 And then of course....google is alway...

No one wants to be rude but have you done a search for this in here?. There is ALOT of posts about this 'problem'. Anyway, it's nice that you dig into the code and create and understanding of it. But........a tip: It's the searching and investigation that will actually teach you how things work. Try...

Hm, I'm too old , tired and undereducated to go into a hairy, off track discussion about overall software design. I'm also lazy and a notorious underachiever so this is a big stretch for me.. Sure, alot of lines to write is a bit tedious, but isn't it the complexity of the code that needs to be written the real challenge? I dunno. How do you differentiate between: - defining the feature well - figuring out the user interface - evaluating the existing code you'll need to modify - writing...

The magnet uri registration should be done automatically by DC++. You shouldn't have to do anything yourself. Ver 0.668 downloading the same filelists over and over
I've noticed that version 0.668 is downloading the same filelists over and over again. I've tried the tip from you Garg (sniffing the IP of a specific user with ethereal to look for the $SR) but I can't really see what's happening here. If I got it correctly (in discussing it at DCDev Hub) DC++ thin...

I think this feature is a hack to try to do what multisouce downloading accomplishes without any work (besides the complete overhaul required of many of DC++'s internals). I'm more willing to work on a long term solution (multisouce) than a short term one (speed finding on existing sources). If you...

What's the problem with the extension?, you can do everything with a partly downloaded file that you could before. The big reason for having the TTH in the filename is if you lose your Queue.xml you can rebuild it with the files themselves. In other words, the temp file holds all information needed ...

It's a monster-mega...
