Please don't use oDC - it is based on DC++ 0.306, which is pretty old at this point (2004-01-09). fulDC is a good alternative.

I made som quick tests on it and it seems to alawys hapen when downloading filelists from version 0.401 of DC++ and probably 0.402 as well but there was only one person using that client during my test. Version 0.403 seems to work fine. That might be the $UGetBlock thing. I don't think it being fix...

Eve, bandwidth limiting is such a point of contention that arne decided he's not going to add it. It is listed in the rejected feature tracker, which I notice that I failed to mention in my sticky post at the top of this forum: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?atid=5 ... unc=browse

Here's my list of stuff that seems to amiss in CVS: * The "hub name" seems inconsistent; it copies two words for "DCDev Private", but only one for another hub I'm on "VGMC Pocket" (ah, there's much more after "Private", but with "Pocket", it's the end of the string * "Your" nick in PM seems to be us...

There are a lot of 3rd party DLLs that are seen in crashes, I was thinking about having a regexp match before entering a new call stack. The regexp could be a full stop or emit a warning, based on "severity." a partial list I've scribbled down is this: Vslp (V-One Smartpass) mclsp (McAfee AV) Niphk ...

I would give copyright to arnetheduck, if he want. I thought about this a bit more after I posted my response - you don't have copyright assignment as part of your terms for accepting patches, right? If not, copyright for the code in question is spread out over everyone who contributed to that code...

Crash collector
I've more or less finished work on the crash collector. The interface to view the crashes is here: http://dcpp.net/crash/stats.php Arne had a couple suggestions for its improvement, I'd welcome more. I think this would be useful for potential contributors; see common DC++ crashes and submit patches ...

Re: User speed checker....
Is it possible to check the user's upload speed when he/she connects to the hub??? If yes, is it possible to make an script that kicks the user if the speed is below the set treshold??? Of course it is possible. But I've not seen evidence that anyone has done it. And by that I mean you'd have to wr...

obscuring the file name not, but routing the traffic trough other clients will. As far as i can judge, it is possible to make clients anonymous that way I'm not sure that you could do that and maintain the things that draw users to the DC network. DC++ will get SSL in ADC mode, and we'll have to se...

@GargoyleMT, there are a lot of known cases where RIAA wrongfully accused people of sharing. Victims mostly accept a settlement because they fear the huge compensations. The existence of false positives doesn't change the conclusion that obscuring the file name wouldn't gain anything given how the ...

I know it's not that easy to understand even your own program if it's big enough and you haven't looked at it for some time. Then the only thing they can do about it is outbound blocking, which would lead to pain in the ass for them, or not? I'd be surprised if this is the case. I'm sure, encrypted or not, DC++'s traffic patterns are pretty recognizable, and may even be unique. Sure, a long transfer may look like a HTTPS...

The problem is with subdirectories, as you said in your post. I'm not sure how to handle it... There has to be some recursive directory thing.
