It depends. If the user has queued from your XML (which is defined as UTF-8), they will use $UGet(Z)Block, and that is defined to be UTF-8. Or they can use $ADCGET, which is also defined to be UTF-8. If they're queueing from a search result or old file list, they should use whatever their local code...

Do your tests reveal the same behavior on ADC and NMDC hubs? i.e. does your code work on one but not the other? To tell the truth, I can't see where the MyNick is set - it must be set along with a bunch of other variables in an Identity somewhere.

If it is Valknut that is sending the message, you need to take a look at their code. $MaxedOut should (there is no spec, only the Visual Basic NMDC client) only be sent in response to a file request. DC++ wouldn't behave the same, so we're not exactly the right people to ask. :)

While I have the floor let me register my own complaint that bugzilla looks horrible. It's also unusuable without style sheets. It should degrade gracefully with style sheets turned off. All somebody has to do is set a background and a few font parameters. This isn't specific to our install of Bugz...

If you're seeing a ratio anywhere, particularly in the list of downloads/uploads, it is NOT related to their upload:download ratio. It is the compression ratio for that transfer.

No, they're for looking for specific content in file lists. This guy wants to find make (from my read) a "top 10 files downloaded" list for his hub.

You can get everyone's file list, certainly. But that doesn't seem like it'll get you closer to your goal. You'll need a custom program for that. (One to parse the file lists, or to be a DC client and get the file lists itself.)

A configuration wizard is a good thing.

I'd stick with making them fill out their nick and connection type, as well as firewall. I'd specifically leave out opening the public hub list or prompting for favorite hubs -- although they both would arguably be important for first-time users.
