The problem is worse. Everytime anyone comes up with a good idea, someone trashes it. ESPECIALLY if you make the idea free. If you charge for it, then there's less people screwing around with it. Ah well, despite that, free software is still so wonderful. There's some crap out there, but then there'...

How about just if they have redownloaded a certain number of times (maybe a threshold of no more than 3?) then cut them off. It does kind of make sense as if they haven't gotten it by then, then they may very well never get it sucessfully and it's rather a pointless waste of bandwidth considering th...

I definitely prefer ctrl+tab myself. It just makes sense with the alt+tab being application switch that ctrl+tab be window switch IMO. Also, a few things have used F6 to do that, which isn't a big deal, but I thought I'd mention it in case someone prefers a non combination thing. Either way, alt+# w...

Yeah, and it doesn't necessarily have to calculate the percentage for you even. If it could just say that you have, say 99MB out of 100MB, it would make a world of difference for me. I'm having to open an explorer window to the folder and check each of the different files I have for a certain downlo...

Hrm, a few things occured to me to point out on these ideas. If, for example, a 56K user were downloading a file from multiple sources, they might have, say 3KB/s, 2KB/s, and 1KB/s downloads. The 3KB/s will get the priority 1 flag there and that's just about their full bandwidth with many phonelines...

You mean Alphanumerical Order?? that in itself is rather easy... and a good idea The only thing is that if you have something such as "File - 01.fil" and another that is "File 02.fil" presumably they are part of the same thing (in most cases anyway), but when you directly compare the two strings to...

Wow, cool. Hardlinks. Too bad they have no such thing for FATxx... Heck, I just wish the system would use the softlinks the way Linux does and that would be enough for most things. Know of anything kind of like that for FATxx perchance? I've run into a thing or two that would make it VERY useful....

He didn't mention it because it shouldn't need to be said, but I hope you'll forgive my adding that people should please follow basic netiquette (net etiquette) too... (That link is a URL to the "official" netiquette homepage if there can really be such a thing as an official one.)

I figured it just gave the client a list of backup servers to lookat if it can't find the first one and so on. For example, if you have the sourceforge list first and then neomodus' (please don't kill me for saying that word d-: ) second. I haven't played around with it much since I found a hub that...

Firstly, kazaa is VERY easily cheated. Heck, I do it, and I don't cheat in any of the other things. Truth is, I didn't have to. I use kazaap not for the cheating thing, but for the other options. For some unknown reason I got the full participation level when I had nothing shared in normal kazaa. No...

Yeah, the higher priority level thing would handle that somewhat, but, to begin with, it could maybe pick which one to get in which order by a little bit of just looking at teh filename. Such as for file01.ext, file02.ext, and file03.ext, regardless of their size, it seems likely that of those files...

Heh, I ran into the sort of situation where that sort of thing would help out earlier. At the time, I only had two so...

Just limit the bandwidth you use and you don't have to worry about such things. I don't just mean as in keep an eye on it at all times, but if DC doesn't already have settings for this, use something external like perhaps netlimiter.

Feature requests: download queue stuff

First of all, it's very useful the way one can set download priorities. However, since often I end up having to queue up a large number of files that I want to get as in order as is possible, it would be very nice if there were a larger number of priority settings. It occured to me that you could ju...
