I don't think the number of hubs you have on your list is the major problem. It's the number of clients that will be hitting your site. I'm sure the hublist.org people could provide statistics on daily average and peak hits.

It seems to me that the amount of traffic has not changed. Just been rearranged. You changed it from "Give information about n users to 1 user" to "Give information about 1 user to n users". Have I interpreted your proposal correctly? If so, I'm not really seeing what load you are reducing.

Why would you even *want* user description in search results? That makes no sense. Hence I interpreted the original post to mean that the person wants the ability to have descriptions added to files and have these descriptions appear in search results. Some clarification by lexodes would be nice.

The screenshots on that page are only of versions up to 0.674. The feature you are talking about was added in newer versions. Have a look at the relevant settings window in the software, rather than that page.

No, you should leave it alone and it will use the default value.
