If the hub goes down, should all transfers associate that hub stop between clients? If so, i think many many users will become angry. Ok, so lets assume they shouldn't. That means that we will have alot of "spoke" connection when the hub restarts. You can't trust any of the feedback you get from the...

First, if you are an active user dc++ will always guess on every incomming search without knowing. This guess is determined on the nickname and or host:port used in sear...

Back to your first post in this thread. Nothing has been done because your idea is plain stupid. ;)) Why should we work on something useless and stupid? Again as cologic said. No, its a bad idea; 1) SFV-files usesa crc32-checksums and not tiger-tree-checksums-roots. In the future all shared files in the protocol will/should have such checksum before being shared. 2) SFV-files do not include size, another important part of a queue-entry: Since rar-files i no way have a uni...

You have to learn howto search. The protocol do not make it possible to limit number of searches. All that can be done is to limit displayed answers on the client-side, i.e. to throw away searches and not showing them in the UI. Ofcourse you can play with it.. but hey.. You might like the changelog ...

Yes. ;)) To register a hub, connect to any hublist server. They are traditionally run on port 2501. The server sends a $Lock command, which works the same way it does in client-client and client-hub communication. The difference is how the initial key is calculated. For hublist connections, its calc...

You have different kind of possibilites to set max number of commands within a timeperiod in yhub already. Play with the settings and let your mind be free. Again, protection around so called "broken" features in client/hubs must be dealt with on both sides. Fixing it in dc++ would not fix the issue...

You have to learn howto recoqnice autosearches. It varies depending on dc++ versions you allow since some small changes has occured. But basicly you will have a problem finding them. So called free-searches can usualy be found by looking at modulus 1024 in size (or less than 1MiB or so). Search for ...

Re: how to change number of replys on incoming searches
I'm trying do achieve severel things here, I'm running a hub on a quite large internal network. And as I understand it when a client gets a search request it doesn't return all the hits, if it's over 10 or something like that. Yes, 10 for active searches, and 5 for passive searches. what i wanna do...

Well, the set of "types" is fixed on the protocol-level. It has only been high-jacked by the TTH-extension. So no extra type will be added. By image i suppose you mean data.images, i.e. .bin, .iso... etc. and not pictures. So i can with 100% certantity tell you that the NMDC-protocol will not be ext...

DC++ is open source, which means everything we put in can be taken out. Now, if DC was still composed of only NMDC, it would be a different question, since it's closed source. But it probably wouldn't take long for someone to fix that either, since that was how DC++ came to be. It's not that we don...

$Direction in client-client is used to determine if the listening client is a uploading or downloading client. This is needed because If user A is active and user B is passive.
