It would be nice to have those features implemented in DC++k. Those features will come if sarf merges k with xAyiDe's dc++mod (as you can read above). Why aren't those commands and functions available anymore? Those features belongs in the old dc++k, this new one is an entirely different project, w...

I suppose you mean ppl that claim to be in one hub when they really are in more hubs. With a fake tag I agree, it would be impossible to detect them.. I can live with that![PT]Devilishly wrote:Well having different nick names and different shares, the only way of detecting fake tags would be by IP...

Dj_Offset: But seriously, wouldn't it be better to be as open as possible by showing clearly what client you are using and where to find it? Like dcgui that implemented the dc++ tag but with <DCGUI instead, THATS smart. Hiding your client certainly won't help more user find it! cologic: yeah, real m...

Why? - Because QuickDC has the same capabilities as DC++, but _some_ scripts discriminate it because it isn't DC++ (and because they have never heard about QuickDC). And by trying to mask as other clients you think QuickDC will be widely accepted? I think not, rather the opposite.. "why is he maski...

changing nick on IRC makes no difference, you are there to talk.. thus you probably want ppl to know who you are and not the opposite. If a /nick command was implemented in the dc protocol that made it possible to instantly change nick. Fakers/cheaters/flooders/leechers would get a powerful feature ...

What about some method of changing nicknames without having to restart the connection, like IRC does? I know it would have to be put into the hub server software, but, if it's a command like /nick or something sent to the server, then it just wouldn't work unless the server supported it anyway. And...

As an OP I would love this change, as you say it would be very easy to sort out abnormalities. BUT the description field is not meant to be used like this, if this were to be changed I think an option to hide the description tag should be implemented. Hide it in other users description fields that i...

well, honestly I agree with xAyiDe, a CDM should be released without source code to make it last as long as possible. Nothing good can come out of exposing the ways to detect different clients. That will just make it easier for them to adapt. Not that they won't do it anyway, but hopefully it will t...

Re: To: sarf
I'm not doing this to wase anyones time.. I'm actually doing this to gain CPU time for eveyone Let's focus more on this and less on the "getting rid of fakers" everyone seemed to have gotten stuck on.... I think it's a good idea. So what this WILL cause for sure is that I'm able to kick users befor...

If I remember, the newer versions of DC++k emulate DC++ exactly, in other words, undetectable to the server that it IS DC++k, and just looks like normal DC++. Should also be added that the DC++k thats is beeing developed right now is a completely different project than the old DC++k. New DC++k cont...

Re: Afraid of change?
I agree with Hess, DC++ has hijacked the description field, a NetInfo command should have been implemented from the beginning![ASH]Yoshi wrote:But today I at least think that it would been a lot better that Arne created the NetInfo command (instead of Hess (and a better one than Hesses)) and used that properly.

Is anyone else experiencing problems with the "no slots despite DC++"-feature, alot of innocent users are beeing kicked over here, seems like DC++ somtimes says "no slots" once before letting the user load their list, DC++ bug? 2. Does anyone know if DC++k does ...

What I was trying to say is that I don't want the bot's kicking response to be visible in the main chat either as I don't want my kick-command there. That is your hub software/scripts that control the command responses, nothing sarf can do anything about I think. About that you kick command shows i...
