Are you refering to the new firewall that comes with XP Service Pack 2? That can be disabled if you wish, but it does not conflict with DC++ as far as I can tell.

The users local font is customizable, so there is no telling how a text-picture will show up on their side. Even if they haven't changed their font, the default one isn't monospaced, so you see the problem.

I took a once-over look at it, seems fine. Make sure 'Accept custom user commands from hub' is enabled in Advanced Settings (in DC++).

Not your computer, the ADSL modem. Turn the modem off, wait a few minutes and then turn it back on (plug it back in). If you don't have a new IP address, try again.

Sure, change your IP address. Which can be done by unplugging your modem, waiting a while and then plugging it back in. Or your ISP might be able to help you by doing it manually. Assuming you don't have a static IP address.

127.0.0.1 is a reserved IP address. It always points to the local computer. You need to use the address provided by the proxy service.
