You should only see this message for ~5 seconds, why is that a problem? How long are you seeing it for (don't estimate... take out a watch and time it) ?

Did you put in the domain name and port in both sections (connection & searching) ? There is/was a bug in BCDC that required you to, in order to be in true active mode.

1) are you using DC++ from this site?
2) Either delete the line containing MainFrameWidths in dcplusplus.xml or simply delete the entire file

I think he means a statis IP from his ISP; and if so then you'll need to call them up and pay a little extra so they set you with one. Otherwise, as you've experianced you get a new IP each time your modem connects.

From that picture, it appears you have port forwarding set up wrong.

You need to put your internal IP address in the virtual server IP field, not your external one. Get your internal IP address by: start | run | cmd | ipconfig

If your hub is hosted on your machine, then try connecting to 127.0.0.1:<hub port>

If your hub is hosted remotely, then check that the firewall is set up to allow hub traffic .

you mean prefer one user over another (for example they have a higher bandwidth)? If so, there are posts regarding that and a few things in the feature tracker. DC++ will automatically use the person(s) that have open slots. If you dont want it to use a certain user, then remove them from the queue.
