Many of these people have to work through port forwarding to get active. Compared to that, making a shortcut in the startup menu is trivial. This might be a good candidate for an FAQ, though.

Note that what filetypes are returned depends on the person being searched, not the one doing the searching (which can only specify a category). I'm not sure when .mkv was added; check the changelog.

You can always limit the hashing speed to 1 MB/s, which at least on my system wouldn't have any effect at all. Have you read the FAQ to see if you can fix your hardware problems to hash faster?

The idea is that having that dialog up sets the hashing thread priority to normal instead of idle. Using the computer when it's like that might make it very laggy and cause people to complain.

If it's running on your computer, you should connect to 127.0.0.1 instead of the DNS address. If it's running on another computer on your internal network, connect to the 192.168.*.* address (or 10.*.*.* but it's much less likely that is being used).

Well, if you have files spread across multiple drives and are using NTFS, you can create junctions so that all the subfolders show up under one folder. But no, you can't do this from inside DC++.

I saw this happen a while ago. I added some files to the queue to download to a directory I had shared. I had the auto-add files to share when complete on, and they showed up in my filelist with size -1. It seemed to fix itself after a refresh, though. (Okay, I was actually using BCDC, but meh.)
