A practical problem that will pop up is that dc++ can only use filenames and filesize to determine matches, so you could very well end up downloadinf loads of stuff you already have only with a different filename, encoding or bitrate to name a few... vonork : You haven't responded to this point yet...

I suggest you investigate the "Search for alternates" feature. That way you won't (generally) have to chase anyone.

DC++ doesn't send DNS addresses. It converts the address to an IP address before sending it to a hub.

Get a dynamic DNS address. DC++ will accept such an address in the active mode settings.

Do a search for "Dynamic DNS" or "No-ip" or something similar if you want more details.

There's no hub advertising here, so no one's gonna tell you directly. Try filtering a public hub list. Try several lists. Try searching on the web. The hub may have a web page.

The last column in the search window is entitled "Exact size" and should show you the exact size in bytes.

There should be a setting in the hub software somewhere that says something like "Automatically register hub".

I'm being vague about locations and names because you haven't actually said which hub software you are using.

In the old versions of dc++ download que there was a nice future.. Which version are you talking about? It was that U could see the amount in megs downloaded of the file in que. This can be seen in the transfer window. Is that what you mean? Or perhaps something else ...? Why was it even taken away...

Can you check whether this is the IP address that your computer recognises. At a command line type ipconfig and note if there are any different IP addresses.

You have a DNS address "superiornetwork.no-ip.info". This maps to an IP address. Your DNS address is a dynamic DNS address because you have a dynamic IP address, e.g. it changes each time you connect to the internet. The DNS name can only point to your *current* IP address if you keep the mapping up...
