From my experience, the info about each hub, specifically the description, *never* changes. But they are doing wonderful things over there, so I shouldn't bitch. :) You could email an admin maybe.

Put chr(160) in your hub description, this is just like putting the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the hotel rooms door so that the maid won't come in. This will stop the (non-hacked) MoGlo clients from entering or searching your hub. (if so how does a user get to be registered?) You run a hub and have fi...

What hub software are you using? Most, if not all, will register automatically. Make sure the Register automatically box is checked in settings, that pretty much applies to all the hub software out there. Also, 1. It takes a pretty long while for your hub to apear on the public lists. 2. Most of the...

On the other hand, this means that the DC community is starting to get alot more attention. This is not good since the...

Yes, a 'Speed' column was added in DC++ v.261. The transfer rate was moved from the 'Status' column to its very own column. The latest DC++k version is based on DC++ v.251.

I agree, DC++k is very good. Thank you Sarf. Your work is very much appreciated.

Two patches? I don't understand.

DC++k is a modified version of DC++. There is no manual patching involved.

Just go to one of the download sites and get "0.251-k* Binary 0.251-k-bin.rar ", decompress it to some directory on your system, and run DCPlusPlus.exe

Actually, if you're talking about rotating messages, like 1 of 4 messages gets sent to main chat every 15 minutes, then the code will have to modified a bit.

So, could you do this: I highlight all files, then DC++ automatically search for alternates on each files.
First problem is going to be how to space the searches so that they won't violate the hubsoft's search-spam restrictions. Perhaps an elegant solution for this is possible, dunno.

Found out why your webserver is not working. OptOnline blocks all incoming connections on port 80. You will have to run your webserver on a port other than 80, like mywebserver.no-ip.org:1234. It's a pain. I'm very mad about it myself.

Sounds like you need to get some ports forwarded to your webserver/hub. Port 411 (by default hubs run on this port, but this number can be changed) and port 80 (for your webserver) need to be forwarded to your local machine.

In DC++, open up the Public Hubs window. There is a box that says "Manual Connect Address". Put 127.0.0.1 in there.

Ok, here we go, now we're getting somewhere.

Are you using a dynDNS, like myhub.no-ip.com? or are you manually putting your IP address into dc hub's settings?

What port have you set dc hub to use?

if you are running dc hub and DC++ on the same machine, try connecting to 127.0.0.1
