You're wrong. Even within computer math, virtually none of the C-based languages use ^ to signify exponentiation (they don't tend to have an operator for it). Mathematica appears to use it, as does BASIC. Fortran uses **. It's "in standard math" not the exponentiation operator, either; I recall from...

I don't enjoy getting banned (yes it has happend) just for connecting to my favorite hub when running Linux. So lobby those hubowners to use less pointless agressive CDMs/scripts/client filtering. There's a separate Nick1 on another hub.
Should that other Nick1 also get the distribution hub auto-slot?

Slots are a poor abstraction for bandwidth, which is the more real (ISP-imposed) limitation for a P2P user. One might look into changing their nature if one wishes for multisource downloading.

other p2p networks
The separation of hubs is one difference between DC and a lot of "other p2p networks", one I very much appreciate.
I don't trust ops I don't know more than I do users I don't know
My primary objection to this makes no distinction between ops and non-ops.

This assumes both that (1) it's acceptable to reveal exactly what private hubs one's on, and (2) you have the ability to log on to them.

Address them, and I'll think about it more.
