It means that the STLport supplied in the DC++ project is a modified version. There is an unmodified version at STLport's project page. Use that one.

Do something about what? User identification in NMDC? There are plenty of threads concerning multi-share where user identification is discussed.

All users are identified by CID because that is how ADC does it. This is the reason for the change. I would assume the CID is created by Base32.encrypt(Tiger.hash(nickname + hubname)) == CID. Ugly indeed, but that's what we get for using NMDC.

The CID in NMDC hubs is constructed with nick+hub. However, the CID in ADC hubs should be identical if it is infact the same user.

No. Why would you want to search for '-' anyway?

'j' is also declared before that in a loop.

Check if the code that have a '+' before the line is added in DC++, and if lines starting with '-' is removed from DC++.

Be more accurate in your search. Use '-' before words and they will be excluded.

You might want to check out if all of the patches in Bug 689 is in stock DC++...

DC++ will not compile with that. DC++ require Visual Studio 2003 or Visual Studio 2005. This is due to the fact that ATL/WTL 7 (or 8) isn't in the Express version.

Snatched some new code concerning the Base32 decoder/encoder fron Bitzi... Seemed to have done the trick. No idea why it didn't work before... I still seem to get decode(encode(x)) != x... If you're working on a NMDC client, Verlihub would probably be sufficient.
