To be honest, I think one hour is still to often. Once a day sounds plenty. Most people don't change their shares very often.

LOL. Yeah, it's the best way because there is not much else to be done. It seems to me that the average user will not have the ability to add capability to the client on their own, or they wouldn't request that it be added. They would simply add it to their client and call it good. :D

When you cap, you leave DC++ on. Yeah, but what if you're not using your computer? Are you still going to cap--or will you turn the capping off? I, personally, have not found that it significantly raises my ping for gaming, or that it sucks up cpu. But, that's just me. You know when my downloads do...

Because it is designed to search for sources only when all of your current sources are offline. Imagine the increase in searches if everyone automatically searched for downloads on every file that they was in the queue. Chaos would ensue.

The actual amount that each user has uploaded/downloaded? Or the speed? The download statistics wouldn't benefit anyone.
Again, the upload statistics would use bandwidth.

The obvious solution is to search using the "at most" option and sorting the results by size (most to least). Then, the exact sizes are at the top.

I don't have dc++ in front of me at the moment, but can't you just redefine some of the parameters and click on search, again?

I usually include all users, with or without slots, because they could have their slot free before the download is finished (esp. large files).

A feature that is not reliable and misleading won't be included in the main dc++ code. Your best chance is one of the modded ones. :)

As far as programs and games, pretty much filesize and type would be useful, as I said before. But, media is a the main (if not exclusive) interest for most p2p users. For this reason, it would be very useful for the vast majority of users.
