You can't send PM's to users who are offline, so if you can send it, he's online. That's all the assurance you can ever have that he'll read it.

Who cares really who does it? You can already set if you want the message filtered, or not. Personally i wish everyone would set their damn hubs to kick everyone who spams messages that end with a lot of space and a "is kicking", since they're so damn ignorant. That goes for both normal and OP users...

Revconnect has that feature already and the source if freely available, so it shouldn't be hard to implement that until the next protocol is ready. I think you're missing something here. Your ISP is not spying on you. RIAA/MPAA agents are using DC clients to download your userlist and are reporting you. They could do this just as easy if the traffic was encrypted. The only thing gained by encryption is to avoid trafficshaping, you can not escap...

Have you realised that these spam messages are almost always being sent from different, random nick, users? Blocking usernames will do you no good. oDC has not been developed (publically, if you ask fusbar) for years. It is outdated and not bugfixed. We can't help you. I recommend downloading the newest DC++ or fulDC (more like oDC) instead.

You said you had to emulate windows 98 under wine to get DC++ 0.674 working. That version does not work very well together with the actual windows 98, so it's logical to assume an emulation of win98 will have similar problems, if not, the emulation is flawed ;)

YHub and YnHub both check the key, IF the owner has specified this in the settings. The default setting is to check.
