Sorry for (maybe) stupid question. I haven't studied DC++ code regarding logging in etc. And I couldn't get what Pk/Lock things are good for? As I could see from source DC++ responds with hashed Versionstring at the login. But if mod supply original Dc++ versionstring it should be ok. Correct... if...

Then change the logfile format yourself - shouldn't be too hard.
You change the logfile format in the same window where you activate the logging.

Which is it? Are you sure your using DC++k? 0.1774 doesn't have customizable lock/pk much less a random one. DC++k (note: NOT DC++) has had customizable lock/pk for a very long time (I don't remember since when) - you merely had to use commands to access those features. Sarf --- Oh, my God! ARTHUR,...

Re: Many thanks

The problem was that the PM command ($To) is handled differently in NM DC and DC++. DC++ requires that the PM command is sent exactly as it is specified to, while NM DC allows a somewhat looser interpretation. The specification is as follows: $To: <othernick> From: <nick> $<<nick>> ;<message> ray's ...

Process priority of the VCSPAWN / CL / compile exe (VS 6.0)

Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 fix I've found an interesting article that describes how to patch your VCSPAWN.exe so that it runs on a lower process priority, thus avoiding the stutters when you edit as you compile your new shiny DC++ binary. Simply open up VCSPAWN.exe (located in <Visual Studio Direct...

This is all good and fine, but do users really want a server holding all the network's upload/download activity? Some may find the top uploading/downloading users and monitor them for illegal activity or whatnot? I think this will be frowned upon. It is not a requirement that the information contai...

Re: DC++ and remote refresh command

I decided that you have to specify a "passphrase" and then any PM with the "!refresh <passphrase>" syntax which matches the passphrases causes an immediate forced refresh. This is pretty useless IMO - a much better approach is that DC++ would automatically refresh the share when a requested file (w...

Good idea, but much traffic for one server. And what happens if rating server is down ? You don't get ratings. The ratings server should be seperate from the hubs (e.g. not placed on a computer with a hub), and you could solve the whole thing with a 50-100 bytes UDP-packet every time someone finish...

Hello Sarf, thx for your pm. Not a problem. Re: Find New Sources needs rate control - It causes search s

I noticed that DC++ .22 has that handy new feature that reports when someone search spams the hub. Is it new? No, it is not new. It's been in the program for quite a while (since 0.163 I *think* - but I'm not 100% sure). In my new betas of DC++k I've added the ability for the user to specify how of...
