Alternatively, the connection token could be used to determine which client is supposed to speak first after the handshake - whoever issued the token requested the connection and should thus be allowed to send the CGET first. In this case, the token cannot be optional in RCM and CTM, of course. Thi...

If you don't have a U4 and a I4 (or v6-alike versions) you have to ofcourse route the message through the hub. Remember that INF are increasing, so there might have been a I4 in a previous INF for that sid. You should also notice that adchpp and dc++ is implementations, and do not fully support all ...

The rationale for including both PID and CID is that another client should not be able to steal another client CID. PID is only used in client-->hub communication. The PID is never broadcasted by the hub to other clients. Ofcourse, someone with access to the hub can steal a clients CID by examining ...

Re: general problems
No binary official release of ADCHpp has not been released yet. But nothing stops someone from distributing a binary version. So if you have a problem compiling it, ask your favorite friend to compile it for you.

The clone BCDC has LUA-plugin support. And most other clones of clones supporting LUA derive their base from this clone. To write a good plugin-interface you need to determine what to expose to the plugins and what they can change. There are many design and thread-issues concerning this in the curre...

Re: not in this way...
Most OPs doesn't know enough to understand the difference between a passive and an active search-reply. Most OPs have for many years kicked/banned users depending on active search-replies which are extremly easy to spoof nickname/content in. Ofcourse IP is unique upto NAT. Passive search replies are...

The development of DC++ is not targeted to be used in LANs. Using DC++ on large shares for a short moment of time will be expensive in initial TTH-creation cost. First of all, what settings do you have enabled when you find DC++ to be a hog? Have you enabled "Safe and compressed transfers"? What rea...

hashing has nothing todo what you want to achieve. You can always decode this kind of info, but then you need general search-replies that can contain any metainfo or filelist containing any metainfo. The cost of this is essential. Lets consider a mp3-file, for example a untschackahackaunts.mp3 (a so...

The point is the following. In the past, static const char* badChars = "$|.[]()-_+"; was removed from searches due to the fact that dc++ wanted to find as many files as possible with the same content when doing auto-searches (except $| which are used as protocol-delimiters). In that time TTH did not...

You can simply write a script that manages this. I have done it myself.. Its a 10 minutes job at the most. I based mine on TTHs. It do take some memory when you run it on hubs with several 1000 users. If i remember correctly, approximatly 30% of content in hubs are unique upto TTH. But then again, t...

I would not expect DC++ to handle 1TiB filelists. Most computers doesn't have 1TiB of memory to store the information on. If you on the other hand mean someone sharing 1TiB, then that information is rather useless. What is interesting is the number of items shared, directories and or files. Sharing ...

Yes, but you can't ask for help about a clone in the DC++ Support section. You should have used the "Other Direct Connect tools" section of the forum.
