A binary protocol is not the way to go in my opinion, it may spare some bandwidth but I'm sure it will raise other problems.

Something I should want is a fully encrypted protocol. Using a SSH-like encryption should work I think because it's secure as hell

also, DCH++ is very flexible in who can do what. My hub has 6 levels of users, Unregistered, registered, VIP, temp op, Op, Admin. Temp op and higher can kick, ban, and view bans.
