I would use one of the search engines mentioned in the sticky. If they haven't caught it when it was online and public, it'll be darn hard to find. Find a user U know from in there in another hub and request the address from there - I believe thats the only good way to do it. Or use the Mo/Glo-tools...

Amazing what one can overlook...
http://dc.ww-ei.com/hublists/ is even better than indx' page, althou its a bit shorter, as its possible to rate the lists. Nice 1, Spykie!

Correction to list: ImperialNet list will be moved to search engines, as they now require 'subscription' (an emailaddress to send you a 'personal' link), see www.imperialnet.org for details.

I've been speculating along the same lines... I 'just' wanted people to end up with a PM from a bot on arrival, requiring them to answer 'yes' to having read the rules. But I'm hopeless at scripting, so I figured it could be done with 2 hubs running on the machine, 1 'arrival-hub' where ppl were req...

I still don't get it - is it THAT hard to implement hub- and scriptside? IMHO a chat-only-client reporting to be so shouldn't be allowed any searching at all - the opping features are cool, but would still be easy to maintain via scripts and bots if that need should arise. Cripple it effectively fro...

I think hardist's idea is brilliant. Then I'd just have to limit the speed for each of the "perm" slots to keep leeching.... Hubs enforcing max hubs limits essentially does the same. Waste no more keypresses on this issue, and think up new ideas instead of cooking the same soup twice. Personal...

Hub list problems? LOOK HERE!!
OK, here it goes. If you have trouble with your public hub list, look no further. Instruction: Open your DC. Open Settings. In tab Downloads, locate Public Hubs list URL, and replace the string with 1 of the following URLs without the > < !!! These are just made to ensure you don't get any whitespac...

BTW (OFF TOPIC - I KNOW) - I generally think there are too many lazy ops out there, its not unusual to see ops chat away with eachother, letting users handle help among themselves. I'm quite a bit more active on the assisting side than most ops I know, anyway. I know it's all up to the hub owners......

I see the idea, ButterflySoul... but as you mention, it doesn't do any difference anyway. But - generally - never mind me. I'll just be using an older client if I feel like it anyway. It will be eternities before all hubs have updated their scripts, and there's prolly more changes to come anyway, he...

Nope - I'm getting loads of reports saying ppl can't start their DC++... shuts down after ½ a sec, not running in the background. Since this morning. My guess: something with the "update"-message. New installs in new folders haven't helped, new/older versions doesn't help, not even oDC seems to w...

Set high priority for certain filetypes
I'd really like an extra box in my Settings, under Downloads, where I could define certain filetypes as being priority "high". Maybe not so very controversal, but I think it would be very handy. I know that I like the documents to be the first to arrive. Maybe just a single filetype, maybe just a si...

Isn't it really time for the UN to inspect the US? I mean, in the interest of all, of course - the Anthrax that the Americans yells so loudly about it's "possible" Saddam has - isn't it a fact that the after-sept. 11th mail terror Anthrax originated in Arizona? And has that place been attacked, bomb...

I go with Da8add1e's concept - cap it 25% (or less, see discussion a few miles up) both ways. And for you, Serf, I'm SURE Arne would include a setting in Advanced reading "Throttle to full bandwidth" or similar (why does the words "Hog my line" keep popping up in my mind, I wonder). I'm not sure it ...

And how, exactly, will you know if a user is requesting one or the other filelists? What will be the filename of the filelist? How do you generate that individual list? Don't make it sound like the programmers should just add a single line of code - if it's that easy, why 1) don't you make that for ...
Sorry, have to go on... I hit a quote that Bush never read (but then again, what HAS that dude really read... "The General. His name is the General".)

Bertha von Suttner wrote:You cannot paint white with charcoal, and you cannot ensure peace by war.
GET-A-LIFE-lyers-dudes!!!!! STOP IT!! Arnetheduck made a VERY RELEVANT political statement with this version - and as far as I know, NO-BODY (yes, himself!) asked you to download it. So, if you hav a problem, PLZ uninstall and go back to NMDC or whatever. But no freakin' complaints, or write your ow...

we need a minimum for upload (10KB/sec or even 20) OR we don`t neeed this feature! Well... If I should be really selfish, I'd agree on the 10KB up limit - that would enable me to leave 3,6KB/s for surfing, mails and messaging - and I'd be more than happy. But the best would still be a precise measu...

This would either require some kind of profile (and profile manager I guess), or it would have to be an extra "Exclude these files/folders from this hub"-menu point in the Fav hubs window. Last suggestion would, however, make the filelists a problem. A profile manager could be made pretty easily and...

Well - I think this discussion is getting summed up pretty nicely, actually. Theres a majority for the bandwidth-capping, but a lotta fuzz about how to implement it... why not cut the discussion real short and implement a low-level 90-95-97% up/down limiter - I just want it wide enough (and 3-5% is ...
