wine doesn't emulate anything. It's a recreation of the win32 API under Linux. The "win98 emulation" I think is more in how Wine looks and acts. And you can use 2k/XP dlls if you need to, so instead of using a win98 dll, try a more recent version.

I'm running DCH++ 1.0 on Gentoo. In the past week or so my hub's locked up. We average close to 100 users and other stuff on the server (apache, ssh) are fine. if you just want the bots to be at the top of the list why don't you put a special character in the name. My bots names are surrounded by "-= =-" and are always before users.

web chat client

I've been using axdc on my site for people to be able to chat in my hub from my website if they can't get in the hub. The problem is it's only for Windows and Internet Explorer. Does anyone know of a more cross platform solution for a web chat DC client? possibly a java applet or something?

I think people should just wait. DCH++ and all it's gui-less glory is definately the best hub out there. It's also the only one I know of that's got versions for Windows and Linux.

I'm not sure if the console mode would work under win9x, but you'd have to start it manually. optimally it runs as a service but that's only in NT based OSes.

I think what he is requesting is more similar to DCC Sending in IRC. I can see where that'd be useful in DC++. Is there a way to send directly to the IP of the other person and avoid sending that single file over the DC protocol?
